Continuing to Serve!

Academic tutoring is offered throughout the year at Pojoaque Valley Middle School.  We currently offer three different types of tutoring programs:  individualized, computer-based Math skill-building; remedial Math and Reading; and homework assistance.  The sessions are offered afterschool, Monday through Thursday, and are of no cost to you.  Please call your child's counselor for additional information.

College:  Make It Happen for Your Child

Pojoaque Valley Middle School is partnering with the  Enlace/Gear Up Project, a federally funded program which provides a continuum of college readiness and awareness programs throuhout the year. The goal of the project is to increase student academic achievement, college readiness and awareness, on-time promotion and graduation, improved parent involvement, and higher quality teaching.  Please refer to the principal's monthly  newsletters for upcoming events.

Middle School:  It's Not
Another Junior High

Middle school is where you will spend the next two years of your educational life, transitioning from an elementary setting to high school.  It is where you take some very major steps toward independence and personal responsibility.  No longer are you assigned to one teacher, rather you are part of a team of four core teachers and related arts instructors.  Pojoaque Valley Middle School has three teams:  7 Green, 8 Green, and 7/8 White.  Each team is assigned approximately one hundred students.  During the course of the day you will rotate among the four core teachers and three related arts teachers.  Each team is a heterogeneous mix of students.

Your team's teachers meet daily to discuss interdisciplinary instruction, plan schedule modifications, conduct Student Assistance Team meetings and  Individual Education Plan meetings or to meet with you or your parents.

Pojoaque Valley Middle School is a full inclusion school and opportunities for every person to receive an education of high quality are actively promoted.
